Lost Love, Flower, Chainsaw (
Summary
Aki and Kishibe watch the cleanup of last night's fight. Kishibe tells Aki of a Soviet urban legend of a USSR military branch that kidnapped orphan children and trained them to be soldiers, as well as using them as test subjects. Explaining the story to be confirmed true after an American journalist located it, Kishibe reveals Reze was one of those children, referring to them as guinea pigs. Nearby, an undercover Reze moves to a train station, planning to run away. On her way, she donates money to the same charity stand Denji donated to, and receives a flower of the same kind Denji had.
However, once Reze reaches the station, she gazes at the flower she received and chooses not to enter the train, walking towards the cafe Denji promised to be in instead. As she moves through an alleyway toward it, she begins to smile with anticipation. However, suddenly a mob of mice run by her feet. Forming a large pillar in front of her, a voice is heard from within, as it falls away to reveal Makima. She reveals that she prefers the country mouse, in reference to the conversation between Reze and Denji a few nights prior. However, Makima reveals her reason for liking the country mouse to be based on her enjoyment of capturing and killing them, an activity she describes as giving her "Peace Of Mind".
Reze moves to pull the pin in her neck, however her arm is instantly obliterated. She then pulls out a knife she had hidden with her remaining arm and dashes to try and stab Makima in the back, but she is impaled by a spear thrown from a rooftop by Angel Devil. As Reze slowly bleeds out, she tries to pull the pin in her neck but Makima takes her hand and stops her. Looking to the cafe, Reze thinks of Denji, thinking on the reason she didn't kill him on their first date: Because she had never been to school either, and was as excited as he was. Makima stares at Reze's lifeless body for a moment and tells Angel Devil that he was supposed to bring Aki with him, however she comments that it was nice to leave him behind, as he wouldn't have reacted well to executing a woman. Angel Devil agrees, before looking down at a mouse and asking it if the city is a nice place.
Inside the cafe, Denji sits despondently, clutching a bouquet of flowers. The owner speaks to him, promising that another girl will eventually come along, who is perfect for him. As he says this, the door opens, and Power walks in. She shouts that she followed Denji's scent to the cafe, having been allowed back to work. Denji lets out a low, disheartened sigh, as Power sits next to him. Power, thinking the bouquet Denji was holding is for her, demands that he give her the flowers, and as the two look at each other, Denji quickly shoves them into his mouth, smiling.
